ShelfRestock Privacy Policy
ShelfRestock (“ShelfRestock”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an inventory management application for Shopify merchants (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you install and use the App, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the App and to our website at shelfrestock.com.

1. Summary
- We are a merchant-facing inventory tool. We do not collect, store, or process personal information belonging to your customers (such as customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, or phone numbers).
- We process the store and inventory information you authorize through Shopify so the App can work (for example, products, inventory levels, cost data, and order line items).
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Store and account information
When you install the App, and while you use it, we receive and store:
- Your shop domain and store name;
- The email address of the merchant or staff member who installs or uses the App, and basic account identifiers provided by Shopify;
- Session information (including access tokens) required to authenticate with Shopify on your behalf;
- App configuration and settings you create (for example, lead times and reorder preferences).
2.2 Operational data from your store
With the permissions you grant during installation, the App reads and stores:
- Product and variant information (titles, SKUs, and identifiers);
- Inventory quantities and locations;
- Cost data you enter in Shopify or in the App, including dated cost history;
- Order line items — specifically, which variant was ordered and how many units — used to calculate sales velocity and reorder suggestions. We do not read or store customer details from orders;
- Records you create in the App, such as purchase orders, receipts, and supplier notes.
2.3 Support communications
If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your email address and the content of your message.
2.4 What we do not collect
- We do not collect or store personal information about your customers (no names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, or payment details).
- We do not use advertising trackers in the App.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App (reorder suggestions, receiving, cost history, and purchase orders);
- Authenticate you with Shopify and keep your session secure;
- Respond to support requests;
- Monitor and improve the reliability and performance of the App;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising purposes.
4. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
If you are in the EEA or the UK, we process personal information (for example, your account email) on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the App to you), legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the App), and legal obligation (when we must retain or disclose information by law).
5. Sharing and sub-processors
We share information only with service providers that help us run the App, and only as needed:
- Shopify Inc. — the platform that hosts the App and processes app billing; Shopify’s handling of data is described in Shopify’s own privacy policies;
- Cloud hosting provider — our application and database are hosted on infrastructure located in the United States;
- Email provider — used to send and receive support and service messages.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case we will notify you as required).
All service providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations. We do not sell personal information within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA.
6. Data retention and deletion
- Store data (products, inventory, order-derived metrics, cost records, and purchase orders) is retained while the App is installed so that your reports and history remain available to you.
- If you uninstall the App, we delete your shop’s data from our active systems within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it.
- You may request deletion of your shop’s data at any time by emailing hello@shelfrestock.com; we will complete verified requests within 30 days.
- We honor Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks, including
shop/redact,customers/redact, andcustomers/data_request. Because we do not store customer personal data,customers/redactandcustomers/data_requestrequests contain no customer data for us to delete or return, and we respond to these requests accordingly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS) and access controls that limit who can access our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but our design deliberately minimizes risk: the App does not collect customer personal data at all. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required.
8. International transfers
Our infrastructure is located in the United States. Where personal data is transferred from the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses with our service providers.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
The App runs inside the Shopify admin. We use only the cookies and storage necessary for authentication, security, and core functionality. We do not set advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and our website currently uses no behavioral tracking.
10. Children
The App is a business tool intended for merchants and their staff. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, the UK, and California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@shelfrestock.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, notify you in the App or by email.
